No Follow development began in 2018 and was announced in January 2020, contrary to claims of the game having been released worldwide on June 23, 2001, for the SEGA Dreamcast. The 「game」 was produced in response to the evolution of the internet, and according to Shishka, more specifically "born from the disdain of corporate influence on web design, a failed attempt to make sense of an ideal internet, and an undying enthusiasm for the oxford comma." Its locations were influenced by "the internet of yore and whatever else" such as forums, art websites, and personal pages indefinitely under construction.

The stylization of 「game」 is likely understood to mean a multimedia experience that includes disjointed games, but exactly what that entails is yet to be confirmed.

plot

It features two stories: Seo and her friends journey to save their world from Spider's surveillance and site destruction, while Wes and Applet attempt their escape from Spider's own site. There's definitely a more exciting way to describe it, but it's yet to be shared.

• A few W*terfall users had misunderstood No Follow to be an ARG; Shishka confirmed that is not the case. [source]
• When asked by an anonymous T*mblr user about the game engine, Shishka dodged the question, when really there was no reason to do so. [source]
• When confronted if No Follow is even a real game, Shishka commented that it is "more real than Bambi for PlayStation 2."
• Unknowingly but inevitably, a few No Follow character names may be in common with characters from other IPs that similarly exist in a computer-inspired setting, but according to Shishka, "it's not a problem."
